Rescuers have located the Azerbaijani fighter jet which crashed into the Caspian Sea on 29 January killing the two on board, Turan news agency reported.
The MiG-29 jet was found under the sea some 100 metres of the Caspian shore in the northeastern Xizi District on 3 February, Turan said, citing unnamed military sources.
However, the fate of the pilots is not known yet, the report said.
The Defence Ministry said on 29 January that the pilots were killed in the crash.
The military command is currently exploring the possibility of lifting the crashed jet, which is lying 12-15 metres below the sea, Turan said.
The jet was one of the new generation MiG-29 planes purchased from Ukraine last year. Azerbaijan has never clarified how many of the planes it has in its Air Force.
