The revenues of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) from the sale of profit oil, extracted at the Azari-Ciraq-Gunasli oil field, totalled more than 2bn dollars from December 1999 to December 2007, the Azerbaijani news agency Turan has quoted SOCAR President Rovnaq Abdullayev as saying.
Specifically, in 2007 the consortium of companies developing this oil field produced more than 32m tons of oil against 23m tons in 2006. This year the consortium already plans to produce more than 40m tons of crude oil, the agency said.
The Azari-Ciraq-Gunasli oil field is operated by SOCAR and foreign oil companies.
