Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Turkey's newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic on Tuesday.
The Turkish diplomat vowed to make every effort to develop cooperation between the two countries, the Foreign Ministry said.
Mammadyarov said that multi-lateral and regional cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey complimented strategic partnership.
The parties discussed issues of international and regional importance, the Kosovo issue and inclusion of the resolution on Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh in the agenda of the UN General Assembly.
Issues related to strengthening of cooperation between Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia as well as establishment of the Parliamentary Assembly and Secretariat of Turkic states were in focus as well.
Kilic, who was officially appointed Ambassador to Azerbaijan on January 24, arrived in Baku on February 29. Prior to his new appointment, he worked as the protocol head of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan.
Former Turkish Ambassador Huseyin Avni Karslioglu, who left Azerbaijan on February 18, has been appointed the Chief of the Turkish President's Office.
