    AZERCELL AWARDS 3 MILLIONTH CUSTOMER

    ASSA-Irada,
    13, March 2008

Azerbaijan's leading cellular provider Azercell on Thursday held an event marking a landmark number of its clients. Azercell Telecom subscribers in the eight-million nation now outnumber 3 million.

The company awarded Rafail Gurbanov, the 3 millionth subscriber, with Toyota RAV4.

"We are confident that the number of our family members will continue to rise," Azercell Telecom general manager Halim Ates told the awarding ceremony.

He said the company, which has been continuously improving its activities and pioneering the use of the latest discoveries in technology, will offer more qualified and diverse communication services.

"We do not intend to rest on our laurels of success attained so far. The quintessence of our mission is to bring the world's most advanced technologies to our customers by always moving ahead. For this reason, we believe that the number of our customers who place their trust in us will increase further," Ates said.

The celebration of the rate of 1 million Azercell subscribers took place in 2004. The number of Azercell customers reached 2 million in 2006 and 3 million in late 2007, the company said.

Speaking of the company's success since it was established 11 years ago, Ates said Azercell was currently the largest taxpayer in the country's non-oil sector.
