Despite the successful functioning of Azerbaijan's export pipeline networks (Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC), Baku-Novorossiysk, and Baku-Supsa), the official Baku is considering new possibilities of oil delivery to the world markets, said Azerbaijan's Minister of Industry and Energy, Natig Aliyev at the second Caspian Gas and Oil Trade & Transport Conference, which opened in Baku.
He said Azerbaijan's experts thoroughly study the perspectives of the present Odessa-Brody pipeline with its continuation to Gdansk, Poland. "We are closely cooperating within the frameworks of Sarmatia Company, the goal of which is to create the Caspian-Baltic energy corridor," Aliyev said.
The minister said Azerbaijan wants to participate in providing the energy security of Europe and, therefore, it seriously considers any project which meets its national interests on a long-term basis.
The energy summit of the GUAM Presidents will take place in the second half of May, and one of the discussed questions will be the development of the Odessa-Brody project.
