"I cannot promise that Azerbaijani football team will win World Football Championship 2010, but we could pose problems to favorites of elimination group - German and Russian teams - and took away some points from them," Berty Fogts, new coach of Azerbaijani football team, said at yesterday's press conference.

Fogts said he is proud of his appointment to the position of chief coach of Azerbaijani football team. He added that it is necessary to work hard to achieve success. "But one cannot just hope for good luck. It is necessary to fight," said Fogts.

He evaded the question about the place that Azerbaijani team could take in its group. He promised that in the near future it will be difficult to win victory over Azerbaijani team. AFFA President Rovnag Abdullayev said concrete tasks have been set to Fogts. "Our main goal is to achieve development of Azerbaijani football," said Abdullayev.

Fogts said that every month Azerbaijani team will make preparations. On May 30 Azerbaijani team will depart to Germany to undergo medical examination and preparations will be made there.

Fogts also intends to establish close cooperation with heads of Azerbaijani football clubs. He will train Azerbaijani football team till December 2009. Fogts did not announce sum of his fee. "The person, who was engaged in professional football 40 years, is not in need of money," he said, but added that he will receive compensation.

AFFA President said "sum of the contract is not high, it is an average and suitable for us sum."

In World Football Championship 2010 Azerbaijani team will be in one group with German, Russian, Finnish, Welsh and Lichtenstein teams.
