Austria considers possibility of opening its embassies in Tbilisi and Baku, Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik said at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of 27 European Union states in Avignon city on September 5.
”I intend to study possibility of opening the Austrian embassies in Tbilisi and Baku. And now is the best moment for that,” she added.
Several weeks ago about 50 Austrian citizens were evacuated from Georgia as a result of the conflict on the Caucasus. “We have our own political and economic interests on the Caucasus. It is high time to check that in practice and open embassies in Tbilisi, Baku and, possibly, Yerevan.” Hungary also announced opening of its embassy in Baku.
