President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inaugurated the International Mugham Center in the seaside National Park in Baku.
The Head of State and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the Center.
The Kazakh resort of Borovoye is hosting an informal meeting of the CIS presidents, the last one this year.
The presidents are expected to discuss the global economic crisis. Only eight out of 12 CIS members are attending the summit, while members of GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) have not been invited. The Kazakh Foreign Ministry has not issued an explanation in this regard.
Georgia has unilaterally stated its secession from the CIS.
