Public Institutions will know more about human resources
Baku, 15 February 2010 - United Nations Development Programme and the Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan launched a four-day training on“Human Recourses Management” for senior officials of public institutions started on 15 February 2010 in Baku’s HYATT Hotel. The training was aimed at developing professional skills of civil servants in HR issues. more

Local authorities get trained on human resources management
Baku, 23 November 2009 - Today the Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan started trainings for local executive power bodies and local and regional divisions of central executive power bodies on humn resources management. Trainings were organized within the project on Good Governance through Civil Service Reform: Implementing MDG 9 (draft SPPRSD 2008-2015) between Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and United Nations Development Program” approved by Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan of 29 November 2006. more

UNDP helps Azerbaijan to boost the capacity of regional NGOs

ngocouncilwebBaku, 10 September, 2009 - Today, UNDP and the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan launched a joint project to benefit regional NGOs in Azerbaijan.

The project document aimed at for strengthening the management capacity of local NGO sector in Azerbaijan was signed by Bruno Pouezat, the UNDP Resident Representative, and Azay Quliyev, the Chairman of the Council for State Support to NGOs under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

New building of the State Register of Population under the Ministry of Justice inaugurated

SCAD conference focuses on role of education and media in fighting drugs
scadwebTbilisi, 3-4 June 2009 - The capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, hosted a final conference and training on modern approaches of combating drugs in the framework of the 4th component (Combating through school education and mass media) of the 5th phase of the South Caucasus Anti-Drug (SCAD) programme. The delegations from the three South Caucasian countries attended the conference. more

Baku, June 19, 2008 - "It's not the journalists’ job to fight the 'war on drugs'. But writing accurate and informative stories about drugs could help drug prevention worldwide” – stressed Richard Ives, international expert of Southern Caucasus Anti Drug Programme speaking at the Conference on Media and Drugs held in Baku today. Held on the threshold of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (26 June), the conference was organized by SCAD together with State Commission on Fight Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, Ministry of Youth and Sport and National TV and Radio Council. more

EU and UNDP welcome regional approach to fighting drugs

dsc05194_150The European Union, UNDP and the Government of Azerbaijan present the fifth phase of the Southern Caucasus Anti-Drug Programme.

Baku, 15 April 2008 -  According to the estimates of the United Nations Office of Drug and Crime there are more than 200 million drug users in the world. The drug market is estimated to be the third most profitable in the world after oil and the arms trade.
