UNDP calls for US$35.6 million to help Haitians recover and starts to collect voluntary donations

Baku, New York, January 18, 2010 - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is calling for US$35.6 million for immediate recovery assistance in Haiti following Tuesday’s massive earthquake. Immediate responses will include the clearing of rubble and rehabilitating essential social infrastructures, such as street repairs and electricity, to facilitate urgently needed assistance. UNDP will also carry out cash-for-work programmes to jump-start the local economy.

On April 14-15, 2008 ANAMA Director Mr. Nazim Ismaylov participate in the Eleventh International Meeting of Mine Action Programme Directors and UN advisors which is organized by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) and the UN Mine Action Team, with the support of the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance (ITF) and the Croatian Mine Action Centre - Centre for Testing Development and Training (CROMAC - CTRO). more
