UNDP role in the UN Country Team
With its focus on policy dialogue, UNDP plays a significant coordinating role within the United Nations family. The UNDP has been entrusted with the management of the Resident Coordinator system and the coordination of the United Nations activities in development. In Azerbaijan, UNDP adjusts this management role to the evolving needs of the UN family and facilitates the United Nations coordination to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the UN system, particularly in working for the UN reform.

UN Country Team priorities
The UN agencies operating in Azerbaijan, led by the United Nations Country Team, jointly with their development partners support the Government in making sure that Azerbaijan fulfil the Millennium Development Goals, and its commitments to the goals of international conventions and summits. To accelerate this process, the UN Country Team programming focuses on Azerbaijan's progress toward turning oil revenues into a vehicle for employment and investment in a diversified economy, and improving the Government's delivery of services and protection of the rights of the entire population.
