UNDP and Ireli Public Union discuss the potential of youth in development
22 October, 2009 – How to use the potential of youth in development was the key theme at a meeting held between “İRƏLİ” (Forward) Public Union and representatives of UN Development Programme Office in Azerbaijan.
Noura Hamladji, UNDP Deputy Resident Representativein in Azerbaijan and the UNDP Azerbaijan programme team, Ceyhun Osmanli, the Chairman of “IRELI” Public Union, Aykhan Mustafayev, Director of Ireli’s Programmes Department and members of Ireli’ Managing Board participated at the meeting.
Mr. Osmanli welcomed the guests and briefly oulined the objectives and key activities of the “IRELI” Public Union. Mr. Mustafaev made a xomprehensive presentatation on the programmes and projects implemented by “IRELI” since the organization was established.
Verena Linneweber, UNDP Azerbaijan Head of Cluster on Governance and Crisis Prevention issues, in her turn, presented the key directions of UNDP activities worlwide and in Azerbaijan.
The parties stressed the role of youth in implementation of the Millenium Development Goals. They also discussed the potential of future cooperation between “IRELI” Public Union and UN Development Programme.
